Just tried it in my Debian Testing VM with MATE. Well, it's sort of working.
Windows now have normal borders and buttons, and can be resized
normally. Unfortunately, CSD headerbars are still there. In some apps
it leads to the duplicated window title, in other apps there's just a set of
ugly buttons.

I'm attaching the screenshot to show how it looks. The apps are gthumb,
gnome-calculator, devhelp, gedit and totem.
