Hi,

as explained if you do a simple:

  debootstrap jessie jessie http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/

and

  chroot apt-get install gdm3

then, you'll end up with a non-working gdm3.

either, gdm3 adds a mkdir -p /etc/X11 in its postinst (prefered), or,
then it needs to have a pre-depends on a package already creating
/etc/X11 (which would be suboptimal solution, of course).

either way, this needs to get fixed in gdm3. meanwhile, this also breaks
autologin on the debian-live gnome-desktop image.

due to the triviality of the fix i'm not attaching a patch, but if you
need one, i can provide one.
