Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.14.2-3+b1
Dear maintainers,
It appears randomly that windows are silently closed. It mostly happens
in similar circumstances for each software :
- Iceweasel : at the end of a download, when the arrow in the top-right
corner becomes blue and bigger (after restart, the download is lost)
- Evolution : just after sending an email (after restart, the email is
sent, but received emails that I had read are marked "unread")
- Files : when opening a file (I don't use Files a lot, so I can't tell
you what exactly happens)
Sometimes, it also appears when windows are in the background, so I
don't notice it immediately.
I use almost exclusively these softwares and gnome-terminal on my
computer, so I can't tell if it also happens for other softwares.
It happens on different computers running Jessie (used by other people
where I work), with different graphical cards (at least Intel and
Nvidia). Switching from nouveau to nvidia did not solve the problem on
these.
I did not found any clue concerning the root cause (but I don't really
what to look for):
- in .xsession-errors
- using journalct
- when I start programms from terminal
Please feel free to suggest how I could give you interesting traces. I
will install gnome-dbg (it seems helpfull): do you know where it is
going to put the logs ?
Thanks,
Yvan
