regarding gnome-media: 'gnome-volume-control-applet' volume adjustments produce extreme distortion and screeching volume    When using the 'gnome-volume-control-applet' to adjust the volume, each 'tick'up produces an unbearable screeching sound with distortion until the mouse buttonis unpressed.  If the slider is adjusted with the wheel on the mouse, again, witheach 'tick' the distortion occurs until perhaps the next plateau.  It's almostas if a factor which governs the amount to increase the volume is off by a magnitudeof 10 or something.  This was working until a couple of weeks ago.        This problem was also reported in Ubuntu 
to be marked as done.

This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with.
If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the
Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.
