Bug#693314: gedit: form feed does not start new page in printout

I have not looked at gedit source code, but if it is written with Qt as 
many things are these days, the bug is in Qt.

I noticed the exact same behavior between gedit and a program I was 
developing with Qt. You can load the same text file in Libre Office and 
it will respect the formfeed character both in display and print.
