Bug#802082: gedit: PYGI causes gedit crash on file opening with git extension

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   Opening a file in gedit either from the file manager or directly in gedit. It seems to happen, as far as I can see, with only with files that use git extension. The same files open file with the git extension disabled.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   Gedit crashes. If run from terminal:
   sys:1: PyGIWarning: Peas was imported without specifying a version first. Use gi.require_version('Peas', '1.0') before import to ensure that the right version gets loaded.

This may be a Python bug - I'm not sure.
