Running out of letters for libmutter0x / handle the ABI breaks differently

Hi,

I'd like to change how we handle libmutter. Atm, upstream breaks ABI
almost with each new GNOME release and we deal with that by renaming the
package name (including a roundtrip through NEW).

I propose that we stop renaming libmutter, but instead generate strict
dependencies in the form of
libmutter0 (>= $GNOME_VERSION), libmutter0 (<< $NEXT_GNOME_VERSION)

It would basically be the same as for libevolution.

libmutter0 is in wheezy, so it would be reasonably safe to re-use that
name again. The alternative would be, to simply drop the soversion from
the package name.

Thoughts?

Michael
