Bug#821409: gtk+3.0: gtk3 apps seem to be graphically broken since the most recent updates

Some additions:
- scroll bars apparently don't appear anymore at all (i.e. it's not
just that strange misfeature of auto-hidden scrollbars, that basically
made the concept of scrollbars (seeing where I am) useless before and
that always overlaid precious text or caused flickering)... for example
in evolution or gnome-terminal

- in some applications (e.g. gedit, but not in e.g. evolution, text
selections are no longer visible
