Bug#821452: gnome-core: Cannot install, unmet dependencies

Package: gnome-core
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

I installed a fresh debian sid system (since when I upgraded this morning I was unable to get gnome or gdm to start), and tried to install gnome-core as usual, and got several unmet dependencies:

gdm3 (>=3.14) but it is not going to be installed
gnome-control-center (>=1.3.14) ""
gnome-session (>=3.14)""
gnome-shell-extensions (>=3.14) ""

I tried to install each individually to work around the issue... with no success.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I tried using tasksel to install gnome metapkg, with no success. Tried installed components starting with gnome-shell and then individual components... also not successful. Was not able to get any method of installing gnome-core or gnome in general.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben Bailess
