Hi,

This is still true for RB 3.1 on Debian 8.
It has to do with plugin ReplayGain as mentioned elsewhere:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1477251
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1492348
https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/rhythmbox-crash-mit-replaygain/

Deactivating ReplayGain makes it work but it's almost unbearable on a
big random play list.

Best
Alec

PS: Marked as "important" and a known bug since two years now! Just wow.
