While I have the same symptoms (black screen with mutter 3.22.2-1,
working with 3.22.1-2), i don't see the segmentation fault. Instead i
have:

 org.gnome.Shell.desktop[2151]:   Serial number of failed request:  283
 org.gnome.Shell.desktop[2151]:   Current serial number in output stream:  284
 gnome-session[2069]: gnome-session-binary[2069]: WARNING: App 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' exited with code 1

The upstream git has commit with seems like it should fix this:
