Bug#807062: Excessive memory usage with large contacts database

Package: gnome-contacts
Version: 3.18.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #807062
I can confirm this bug.
The heap of gnome-contacts eats up all memory.
This problem is also observed with evolution and empathy, because you are able
to import the contacts from there.
But the biggest problem here, as mentioned by Josh, is gnome-contacts-search-
provider, because it restarts if you use the gnome-shell.
The workaround for me is:
1. Disable syncronization of evolution with pidgin buddy list
2. Remove the account in empathy at all
3. Prevent gnome-contacts-search-provider by disabling contacts in settings ->
search
