   Installing gnome-terminal and trying to launch it from the LXDE menu   

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     Added LXDE; to Last line of file /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop then logged out and logged back in. 

* What was the outcome of this action?
It worked.
