For comparison, here's what I see on Jessie, running evince on Fvwm.
evince 3.14.1-2, libgtk-3-0 3.14.5-1+deb8u1, fvwm 1:2.6.5.ds-3

It still doesn't work well on windowmaker, but from what I can tell, on
my system it looks like a normal-ish Fvwm window.
