Dear Maintainer,

Starting XDM with `systemctl start xdm` and logging in with username and password causes the screen to return to the XDM login dialog while

    [   96.935153] gnome-session-f[1116]: unhandled signal 11 at 00000000 nip 0fbf9600 lr 0fbf95fc code 30001

is logged in `dmesg`. This happens 100 % for > 10 times. I expect the gnome desktop to be displayed.

This happens on an iMac G4 PowerMac6,1.
