Dear Maintainer,
After my update of sunday, when I was clicking on a HTTP link, my system was using
thunderbird instead of firefox. Which is not how my system was configured.
Of course it didn't worked. But after a while I saw my system become REALLY slow.
Which is anormal. My 4 CPUs was using more than 70% and my load average above 4.
By checking my process I saw this:

and when I killed all of these process, my system stopped to be slow.
I checked the default application for HTTP and it was thunderbird. I changed that
to firefox and I didn't had this problem since.
I think the update of sunday modified my default application.
I don't have a patch to help you, I don't have the knowledge, so I report it.
I tried to report it to GNOME project but they said I should probably do it here.
