Bug#850291: gdm3: does not work without gnome-session

Package: gdm3
Version: 3.22.1-1
Severity: normal

If I try to run gdm3 while gnome-session is not installed, the greeter
will not come up. It instead blanks and unblanks the screen repeatedly,
presumably as it keeps respawning the greeter. Installing gnome-session
fixes it.

It sounds like gnome-session-bin was supposed to be sufficient, but
apparently it isn't at the moment.
