The changes were in the repo since 2014 but the usual uploader lost
interest in the package so it never went through (I don't have upload
rights).
The split of the package has been released along with a fix for FTBS
and a fix for reproducibility.
This MBF I've done is really to be taken as wishlist, very minor in my
opinion and shouldn't be mandatory for the release.
No it has not been coordinated with the release team.
