Bug#866897: gdm3: Impossible to restart gdm3 without rebooting

Hi,

I am unable to restart gdm3 without rebooting my system. If I do
/etc/init.d/gdm3 restart then vast quantites of logs are emitted, and
no new X display appears.

Logs look like this, and loop fast (you can see the start of the
repeated section below), producing 30 log lines a second indefinitely
:-(
