The file /usr/share/applications/evince.desktop contains two repeated
semicolon at the end:
"...application/x-ext-cb7;;application/oxps..."

When running 'update-desktop-database', this gives
"Error in file "/usr/share/applications/evince.desktop": "" is an
invalid MIME type ("" does not contain a subtype)"
