Thanks for investigating with upstream!

A missing dependency sounds (no pun intended) RC to me. Maintainers,
may I NMU with the missing dependency added? (I'll also take care of
the unblock request.)

Note: on most Debian/GNOME systems, gnome-core would pull the missing
package, but there's nothing in gnome-sound-recorder's dependencies
that makes it depend on gnome-core, and there's no reason why it
should not work out of the box on other desktop environments.
