Hi,

tl;dr: the patch repairs many use cases, without making any other
substantially worse; shall I NMU with this patch applied?

Thanks!

I confirm that this patch improves zenity's behaviour a lot, whenever
it has to display a large-ish amount of text. To be fair, it also
makes it slightly worse when the text to display is very short: then
the width of the dialog will be a little bit wider than needed.

But all in all, IMO this is a huge improvement, compared to the
current state of zenity in Stretch, which brings this serious
regression vs. Jessie. More specifically:

 * on Stretch, zenity dialog windows sometimes get much too high,
which is ugly and gives the user a feeling of unpolished,
amateurish software; this might sound like a detail but IMO this is
part of the UX bits that affects how much the user feel like they
   can rely on the software or not, and how much they can trust it;

 * on Stretch, zenity dialog windows sometimes get much too wide,
which severely affects readability of the text: it's well known
that our eyes/brains are no good at reading text paragraphs
   formatted as very long lines.

So we decided to apply this patch in Tails for our upcoming 3.0
release, based on Stretch. Now I would like this to be fixed in
Debian too :)

Dear maintainers, what do you think? I'm happy to NMU and file an
unblock request if you're fine with it.

Cheers,
