Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     A minimal installation (i.e. no packages specified within the task selector) of Debian 9.4.0 via the network install CD/USB.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
     Installation of the "gnome-core" meta package fails unless the "standard system utilities" task is specified within the task selector during the initial installation. Essentially, the service for the "rtkit-daemon" produces a timeout error, and then the installation process hangs indefinitely whilst setting up "dbus". The installation process needs to be forcefully terminated, the computer rebooted, and then resumed with "dpkg --configure -a".

   * What was the outcome of this action?
     As above.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
     For the installation process to complete successfully.
