Notification about TC discussion on possible deprecation of dpkg vendor specific patch series

Hi,

The Debian Technical Committee has been asked to rule on whether to
disallow the use of dpkg's vendor-specific patch support in the Debian
archive.  As you either maintain or are interested in a package that
uses this support, you might want to be aware of this discussion and
possibly participate.  The bug number is 904302.
