Bug#886244: nautilus: handling of desktop icons is broken in Debian 9 (GNOME)

Handling of desktop icons is broken in Debian 9 (GNOME):

- new files overlap each other (e.g. when you export a LibreOffice
document to PDF)
- new files are not automatically refreshed, only manually after pressing F5

Only after pressing right mouse button -> "Organize Desktop by Name" the
desktop icons no longer overlap and are refreshed.

Attached is a tiny video clip demonstrating the problem.

This is really cumbersome for our users, especially for students who are
using
Debian live based exam environments. We didn't see this problem in
Debian 8, so
this is a regression.
