Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:3.26.2-1
Severity: normal
Hello,
thanks for maintaining gnome.
I wanted to configure <Alt>F5 to switch to the 5th tab in a terminal. I
managed to configure all other <Alt>Fn combinations to work, but not
<Alt>F5.
I looked into all shortcuts for gnome-control-center, and I could not
see <Alt>F5 assigned.
I found https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_of_keyboard_shortcuts
which documents that combination as "Restore the focused window to its
previous size". I suspected something might have been wrong with the
shortctuts interface, went digging under it, and there it was:
$ gsettings list-recursively|grep F5
org.gnome.mutter.wayland.keybindings switch-to-session-5 ['<Primary><Alt>F5']
org.gnome.Terminal.Legacy.Keybindings switch-to-tab-5 '<Alt>F5'
org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings unmaximize ['<Super>Down', '<Alt>F5']
org.gnome.evolution.mail labels ['I_mportant:#EF2929', '_Work:#F57900', '_Personal:#4E9A06', '_To Do:#3465A4', '_Later:#75507B']
Using gsettings I could remove that binding and now the combination is
available for my terminal:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings unmaximize "['<Super>Down']"
I would expect multiple combinations like that to show up in
gnome-control-center, though, and it seems to me to be a bug if they do
not.
