Bug#891839: gnome-disk-utility: gnome-disks sees empty space instead of an existing extended partition

Package: gnome-disk-utility
Version: 3.26.2-2
Severity: normal

I have two disks with the same partition table. This is what fdisk says
about one of them, which is consistent with what is in /proc/partitions:

tucano:~# fdisk -G -l /dev/sda
GNU Fdisk 1.3.0a

Disk /dev/sda: 1000 GB, 1000202273280 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 27296 219255088 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 27297 75486 387078142 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 27297 40350 104848222 fd Lnx RAID auto
/dev/sda6 40351 45517 41495895 fd Lnx RAID auto
/dev/sda7 45526 48713 25599577 fd Lnx RAID auto
/dev/sda8 48714 49989 10241437 fd Lnx RAID auto
/dev/sda9 49990 75486 204796620 83 Linux
/dev/sda3 75486 121602 370426770 83 Linux

This is alright and there is no problem.

However, gnome-disks sees the extended partition 2 as being of zero
length, followed by a 396GB unused space. Primary partitions 1 and 3
are seen correctly.

This behaviour is completely reproducible, so please let me know what
details should I send to debug the problem.
