Package: libproxy1-plugin-mozjs
Version: 0.4.15-3
Severity: important
Tags: buster sid
mozjs (or Spidermonkey) is the JavaScript engine from Mozilla Firefox.
mozjs52 is no longer supported since Firefox 52 ESR has reached End of
Life.
Please switch to mozjs60.
Alternatively, we could drop libproxy1-plugin-mozjs entirely and just
use libproxy1-plugin-webkit. I've never used either package but I
think they offer equivalent functionality.
There was discussion earlier in GNOME about a possible conflict
between the mozjs libproxy plugin and mozjs as used in GNOME Shell so
maybe it's safer to use webkit. On the other hand, Fedora still ships
the mozjs plugin so maybe that's not a big issue now.
Debian Buster will likely offer both mozjs52 and mozjs60 since the
Cinnamon developers haven't adopted mozjs60 yet.
Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha
