Hello,

I just got this bug too.
The problem is that update-notifier isn't installed.
The postinst doestn't clear the error from the test command.
I changed the line to
[ -x /usr/share/update-notifier/notify-reboot-required ] && /usr/share/update-notifier/notify-reboot-required || true

and it continued without problems.
