Package: gdm3
Version: 3.30.0-1
Followup-For: Bug #731429

Dear Maintainer,

The problem described by the original reporter in 2013 still exists: The gdm
login screen ignores any mouse-related settings by the users which might come
as a surprise on laptops (especially on modern notebooks where users are used
to use tap to click) and desktops. IMHO the problem isn't just about "tap to
click" but also about mouse speed and similar parameters.

IMHO it would be best if the gdm login screen where configured so that the
mouse settings of the last user that logged in via gdm are used. If this isn't
possible, the users' mouse configuration dialog should probably include a
button that allows them to copy the current settings to the gdm login screen.
This way, the behaviour of the mouse/touchpad on the login screen would
perfectly line up with the users' expectations.

Regards,
Tom
