Dear Maintainer,

I have recently installed Debian Testing LXQt.
I have been going over my vacation photos from last fall, and many of them are
panoramas - that is, photos intended to be assembled by Hugin into panoramas.
Naturally, after creating a panorama, and after adjusting it in GIMP, I wish to
see the final product, and my go-to photo-display program is eog.
I have found recently that eog does not display especially long panoramas
correctly.
Looking left to right, after a certain distance, the rest of the photo is
displayed merely as a medium grey.
The image itself is fine - it displays correctly in GIMP and in the default
image displayer program for LXQt - LXImage-qt.

I will attach 4 screenshots that demonstrate the problem.
These show the same image displayed in eog and in LXImage-qt.

I will attach a 5th screenshot that shows a close-up of the region where the
grey begins in eog, and of the same region in GIMP that shows the ruler.

In every case, the grey starts at somewhere around 16200-16400.
It may be a coincidence, but a power of two resides in that area: 2^14 = 16384.

[reportbug reports that there is a later version of eog, but it is in
experimental - not even in sid yet. I believe that I can use the -t option of
apt-get to grab packages in other releases, but don't know if that can be done
with experimental, don't know whether that would be safe for my system,
and if it is not even in sid yet, how broken it might be...

If it is recommended that I do so, then I will, and will report back.
Since I see no bugs that match mine, then I assume the problem has not yet been
noticed, and probably therefore has not been fixed in experimental either, but...]

I did not see the problem before, and my version of eog in Lubuntu Next 17.10
was 3.26.1
