evolution shouldn't be able to cause this, even if it wanted to. I think
this is probably the real root cause:

What versions of gnome-shell and libmutter-3-0 are you using?

Unfortunately, if this isn't reproducible, it's unlikely that anyone
will be able to debug or fix it.

https://github.com/elementary/gala/issues/419 and
https://github.com/spheras/desktopfolder/issues/182 appear to be the
same thing.
