Please could you confirm that GTK 3.24.8-1 in experimental resolves
this bug?

buster has been in hard freeze since mid March, so we would have to check
the benefit vs. regression risk and get permission from the release team
to be able to backport some or all of the 3.24.x changes into buster, but
the first step would be to confirm that the fixes have the desired effect.
