I don't think so: it doesn't look as though gnome-shell immediately
exited.

I don't think anyone is going to be able to solve this with the
information available. If this hasn't recurred, hasn't happened to
anyone else, and doesn't have an obvious cause logged, then we might
have to write it off as "probably fixed in 3.30.x" or "probably won't
happen again".
