Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
        Any attempt to open or create an image file results in segmentation
fault and exit from the software.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
        No attempt to open any kind of image on my system resulted in anything
but segmentation fault and exit from the software.
