It was not *renamed*, exactly: the old libpango1.0-0 package (before
2013) contained the equivalents of what is now in libpango-1.0-0,
libpangocairo-1.0-0, libpangoft2-1.0-0, libpangox-1.0-0 (which
is unmaintained and should probably be removed from Debian), and
libpangoxft-1.0-0.

If a third-party package depends on libpango1.0-0, then we cannot know
which of those libraries it actually needed, and the safe assumption is
that it needed all of them.

libpango1.0-0 was already a transitional package, since 2013 (a few days
more than 7 years ago). Transitional packages are normally removed in the
next stable release after they become transitional, so libpango1.0-0 was
already several years overdue for removal. Its removal was requested in
#940744 and #948462.

If libpango1.0-0 really needs to come back, it should probably be taken
over by the pangox-compat source package, so that it "naturally" goes away
when libpangox-1.0-0 does.
