Hello,

I am experiencing same kind of issues with X server and lightdm, namely
seemingly random crashes where X restarts that get me back to the login
greeter.

Searching around a bit I came across a similar report in Ubuntu:

as well as two related issues in upstream's gitlab:

I think this bug should be reassigned to xorg package.
