Hello,
I am a user of Sylpheed who has just noticed your bug report.

Since (on Debian testing) sylpheed/3.7.0-8 works correctly with
libpango-1.0-0/1.44.7-4 , I would say that it is important to prevent
the migration of libpango-1.0-0/1.46.0-1 from unstable to testing,
until this issue is fixed.

I do not know whether a fix is needed in sylpheed or in libpango-1.0-0,
but a RC bug report against libpango-1.0-0 is necessary in order to
prevent its migration to testing.

I am consequently cloning this bug report and reassigning the clone to
package libpango-1.0-0.
Dear pango1.0 maintainers, please do not reassign back or downgrade
this bug report, until the issue is solved for the best.
Thanks.
