Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.30.2-11~deb10u1
Severity: important

Upon boot, my laptop gets stuck at "Started GNOME Display Manager." (see the
attachment). Examining dmesg reveals:

[44.363854] gnome-shell[808]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bff2c2ac error 4 in
gnome-shell[443000+2000]

[44.363866] Code: Bad RIP value

...

[791.460436] gnome-shell[886]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000 sp bf8135ec error 4 in
gnome-shell[426000+2000]
[791.460448] Code: Bad RIP value
I use buster 10, uname -a returns

Linux T42-LAPTOP 4.19.0-6-686 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.67-2+deb10u2 (2019-11-11) i686
GNU/Linux

The installation is FRESH; xorg has been favored by the installer automatically.

Using Ctrl+Alt+F2 followed by Ctrl+Alt+F1 makes the boot continue without other
observable ill effects.
How do I get rid of this manual intervention? If I ship this to a client, the
client says "system unusable".
