I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by this. Do you mean "the
patchset in hirsute is unsuitable for Debian", or do you mean "I haven't
assessed whether the patchset in hirsute is suitable for Debian or not",
or what?

Please don't assume that replying to a bug report makes me a maintainer of
vinagre! I'm a member of the Debian GNOME team, and vinagre is (was?) a
GNOME application, but I have never uploaded vinagre and I don't use
it myself.

But, in the absence of a more specific response from people who
use/maintain/upload vinagre, I think I can say on behalf of the Debian
GNOME team: yes, please fix this package if you can.

Note that vinagre seems to be essentially unmaintained upstream (see also
https://bugs.debian.org/972130) so if it's important to you that it works,
becoming an upstream maintainer might be the only solution. remmina is
a maintained alternative that is also available in Debian.
