Thanks for the response Simon.
Yes, each time I've tried over the last month has been after fully
updating all packages in Sid.
I just fully upgraded again but still is not running on Wayland. It
works fine in X11, just not Wayland.
Here are my current package versions, including the new packages you asked for:
