I think this is the same thing Marco reported in
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1755531>.

I'm testing a patch (basically just extending Marco's workaround to
apply to i386 too). If successful, I'll downgrade the severity of this bug
but leave it open.
