Bug#1015841: meld GUIs affect each other

Package: meld
Version: 3.20.2-2

If I have to interrupt my current task to check something on another
git repository, then the meld used for the current task is terminated
as soon as I hit ^Q in the meld started for the interrupt task.

This is confusing, not being asked for, and *highly* annoying. How
can I keep these melds separate from each other?
