What led up to the situation? Do not know, my logs are getting multiple reports
of this error(?)

What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)? Unknown

What was the outcome of this action?
11433 lines of:
gnome-shell[4883]: Failed to scan out client buffer: drmModeAddFB2WithModifiers
failed: Invalid argument

What outcome did you expect instead?
Not getting all of those errors in one hour
