Bug#1050729: gnome-terminal: shift-click in vim acts like page-down

Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 3.49.92-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I noticed a strange behavior today, that was not present in July. When I
run vim (gtk3 or basic) in a gnome terminal, if I keep SHIFT pressed and
left-click with the mouse, the behavior I get is the same as pressing
PageDown. I tried it with another account that has no .vimrc and got the
same issue. To compare, I have run vim in xterm and konsole and did not
have this weird behavior: shift+double-click selected a word as
expected.
I may be getting the PageDown behavior *in addition to* the normal
behavior. If I go to the end of the file so PageDown has no effect,
shift+double-click does select a word.
PageDown seems to be the expected behavior when rotating the wheel of
the mouse while pressing SHIFT, in case that matters.
I noticed the issue with the version of gnome-terminal in testing and
only upgraded it to experimental because reportbug asked me to check
that the bug was still present there (it is).
