I think this also needs fixing in 44~beta-1 (I haven't confirmed this
myself, I'm staying on GNOME 43 for now to try to get Debian 12 into
shape). A simple reproducer:
- have an X11 window (I used `git gui`)
- have a Wayland window (I used gnome-terminal)
- focus the X11 window
- go to the Overview with the Windows key
- click the Wayland window
- good result: focus moves to the Wayland window
- bad result: Wayland window stays unfocused (dim titlebar, etc.)
The fix is https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2841
upstream. Jeremy or other people working on GNOME 44 betas: please could
you grab that change next time you update mutter?
Thanks,
smcv
