There is a new major, almost-stable release of cairo. The buildsystem
has now switched to meson. I think we should re-evalutate what
configure options we set for the udeb. Generally, we try to limit the
size of the udebs to allow Debian to be installed on systems with low
RAM. I'm not sure how critical that goal is these days but maybe it's
still worth some effort.
One option that I did need to disable to get cairo 1.17.8 to build was
dropping disabling PNG/SVG support. (Not all configure options are
actually tested upstream currently.) But as I pointed out on the
upstream bug report, maybe we want the cairo udeb to support those
common image formats.
