Thanks, both of the backtraces you provided look like the same issue as
<https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2570>. This was identified
too late to be fixed in the initial release of Debian 12, but I've asked
for permission to include the upstream fix in the Debian 12.1 point release.
Prerelease packages with the backported fix are available at
<https://people.debian.org/~smcv/12.1/>.
