If that PR is a correct change to resolve the bug, then that would
have to be a bug in the webp loader for gdk-pixbuf and not a bug in
gdk-pixbuf itself, and it's reasonably likely that there is no change
to gdk-pixbuf that would resolve it; so I'm reassigning this bug report
to webp-pixbuf-loader.

It seems like this is a duplicate of #1054570 and #1056295, so I'm
merging them and marking them as affecting geeqie and libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0.

>From the upstream issue, it seems that this might not affect all image
viewers, depending on their multi-threading model. It does affect geeqie,
but eog (another gdk-pixbuf-based viewer) seems to work normally.
