Thank you. I'm reassigning this issue to xdg-desktop-portal-gnome
then. I might try to backport the larger fix then.

I believe that is actually https://bugs.debian.org/1083115 . 1083055
was specific to Plasma and I believe it's unfixed in Unstable although
I haven't tried installing Plasma to investigate.
